Job Description
Our client, a leading financial services institution, is seeking a Cards Portfolio Analyst to support the growth, performance, and optimization of its consumer credit card portfolio. This individual will leverage data, analytics, and portfolio management best practices to generate actionable insights that drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and overall portfolio profitability.
This role is ideal for an analytically driven professional with experience in credit cards, consumer lending, portfolio analytics, or financial services marketing. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on data analysis to help inform marketing strategies, improve customer experience, and support business growth initiatives.

  • Location: Hybrid (Minneapolis, MN or Colorado Springs, CO)
  • Duration: Approximately a 6-month consulting role with the possibility of extension (must be able to work on Blend's W2 without sponsorship)

What you'll do:
Portfolio Performance & Growth Analytics
  • Analyze consumer credit card portfolio performance across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and reactivation initiatives.
  • Identify trends, customer behaviors, and portfolio opportunities that support growth, increased card usage, and improved customer engagement.
  • Monitor key portfolio metrics and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance.

Marketing Analytics & Reporting
  • Partner with marketing teams to evaluate campaign effectiveness and measure the impact of customer acquisition and engagement initiatives.
  • Support A/B testing, segmentation analysis, and performance measurement efforts to optimize marketing investments.
  • Deliver insights that help guide marketing strategy, customer targeting, and portfolio growth initiatives.

Dashboard Development & Business Intelligence
  • Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and related business intelligence platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across multiple enterprise data sources.
  • Create scalable reporting frameworks that improve visibility into portfolio performance and reduce manual reporting efforts.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, and Data teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Support business case development, prioritization, and implementation of portfolio enhancement initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, helping drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Portfolio Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish repeatable reporting processes and governance standards that improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Conduct ongoing portfolio reviews and performance assessments against established goals and KPIs.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and customer behavior patterns to identify new opportunities for portfolio optimization.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, consumer lending, credit cards, portfolio analytics, or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or portfolio management.
  • Experience using data and analytics to influence business decisions and marketing strategies.
  • Wealth management, banking, consumer lending, or credit card industry experience strongly preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to transform complex data into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
  • Experience defining, measuring, and reporting on KPIs and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data environments and multiple data source integrations.
  • Exposure to Databricks or similar modern data platforms is a plus.

Marketing & Business Acumen
  • Understanding of customer lifecycle management, campaign analytics, customer segmentation, and engagement strategies.
  • Experience supporting marketing performance measurement and optimization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit card products, payments, lending, or related financial products preferred.

Additional Information
The targeted pay range for this role is $45.00-50.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
