Creative Arts Pastor

Inland Hills Church

Chino, CA • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 10 days ago

Job description

Company Description
Inland Hills Church has consistently been a church that values innovation in service to our mission. We were among the first in Southern California to commit to being a contemporary, relevant church for unchurched people. Currently, we are leveraging the power of ever-changing technologies and the global reach of the internet to share the love of Jesus as broadly as possible.
Today, thousands of people attend Inland Hills from all over the Inland Empire. The numbers, however, are not what drive the leadership at Inland Hills Church. We long to see lives changed by Jesus. We long to align everything we do and everything we invest in with the goal of people encountering and being transformed by Christ.
Job Description
Overview:
The Creative Arts Pastor will empower IHC's music and production teams to create immersive worship experiences that lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus. You'll oversee staff and volunteers, partner with our leadership team, and play an active role in the life and growth of IHC's ministries.
You have a track record developing staff and volunteers. You have musical and/or technical expertise; you connect easily with different kinds of people; and you find working collaboratively with others energizing.
You're a strategic, proactive, and innovative leader. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and you truly enjoy solving unexpected problems. You can approach a problem from multiple angles, and you make sure the details don't get overlooked.
Pastorally, you prioritize your relationship with Jesus, and you have a spiritual maturity that enables you to pour into others. You're aware of your spiritual gifts, and using your gifts brings you great joy.
Finally, you're passionate about your own growth: you network with other leaders, you read books and/or listen to podcasts for fresh perspectives, and you're more uncomfortable with the status quo than the prospect of change.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead. Recruit, train, pastor and develop staff and volunteers serving in worship arts and production ministries. Ensure that team members are equipped for their roles, immersed in IHC culture, and spiritually growing in their relationships with Jesus.
Supervise. Oversee the work of the worship pastor, music, and production teams in supporting them in establishing workflows, protocols, etc. Define and monitor ongoing progress toward departmental milestones. Maintain an awareness of team members' strengths and growth opportunities. Delegate decision-making authority, as appropriate, while also making critical decisions on behalf of your team leaders, where needed.
Communicate. Maintain regular contact with staff and volunteers to encourage, provide essential information, and solicit feedback to ensure issues are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis.
Steward ministry resources. Oversee development and execution of annual ministry budgets (worship arts and production-related) consistent with Inland Hills' mission and vision. Steward facilities, equipment and other resources committed to worship arts; advocate for additional resources, as needed.
Innovate and make things better. Develop and implement high-quality, forward-looking solutions within your sphere of responsibilities. Be proactive; be willing to "think outside of the box" to solve problems; consistently contribute your best effort and attitude and inspire others to do the same.
Pastor.Lead others to find life by following Jesus. Model authentic, ongoing personal spiritual growth, and encourage your team to do so as well. Provide care and counsel for the staff and volunteers within your ministry, and across IHC.
Demonstrate Inland Hills' core values. Make it better; work collaboratively; care personally, challenge directly; develop others; choose joy.
Qualifications
  • Strong capabilities in either production or musical worship arts, with the ability to serve/lead alongside staff/volunteers in either a musical or technical context within the Creative Arts team
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, especially in high-pressure situations, with a track record of effective leadership in complex situations
  • Demonstrates spiritual depth, maturity, and leadership (supervision) of staff and volunteers
  • A pastorally-hearted leader with a commitment to ongoing personal growth for the sake of serving Jesus and the local Church ever-more effectively
