Job description

Job Title: Business Operations Specialist, Merchandising

Location: Hybrid/ Dunwoody, GA

Direct Reports/Managers others: No

Be the trusted partner who creates order, supports and connects teams, and keeps the Merchandising department on track!

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, experienced, and dependable candidate to support our Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales teams. This role is ideal for an experienced, proactive professional who enjoys bringing structure, organization, and follow-through to a fast-paced office environment. The successful candidate is a steady and resourceful team partner who can independently manage priorities, coordinate complex workflows, solve problems, and build effective relationships across multiple functions. This person thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve, sound judgment is valued and attention to detail is essential.

This is a hands-on operational role. The ideal candidate anticipates needs, adapts easily to change, and creates consistency in a changing environment. Please note this is not a creative or design-focused role; this position primarily focuses on operational coordination and leadership support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Merchandising leader to coordinate product development and launch activities, ensuring priorities, timelines and follow-through stay on track from planning through execution
  • Anticipate needs, identify potential challenges, and communicate effectively to keep projects moving forward
  • Coordinate cross-functional workflows between multiple teams to ensure product readiness and timely launches
  • Maintain project timelines, track deliverables, and follow up with internal and external partners
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support team efficiency
  • Prepare detailed Excel and PowerPoint materials for seasonal introductions, trade markets, and customer meetings
  • Organize and maintain product information, samples, fabric libraries, and merchandising resources
  • Support High Point Showroom planning, including housing, catering, staffing, and logistics
  • Manage department administrative needs, including scheduling, calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reporting
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

  • Enjoys being the person others rely on to keep things organized and moving forward
  • Take pride in their work and brings a strong sense of ownership, accountability and follow-through to everything they do
  • Brings professionalism, and strong business judgment to their work
  • Finds satisfaction in making things run smoothly and helping others be more effective
  • Is comfortable working independently and staying productive while collaborating with a remote team
  • Remains calm and solutions-oriented when priorities shift or challenges arise
  • Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy and follow-through
  • Can effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Naturally anticipates needs and takes initiative rather than waiting for direction
  • Communicates well and works effectively across teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in office administration, business operations, project coordination, or a related role: experience in retail, consumer products, furniture, merchandising, or a related industry strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred: equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced team with multiple competing priorities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly self-directed office environment while building strong relationships with colleagues and partners who may be based in other locations
  • Experience with tools such as Trello, Canva, or Adobe is a plus
  • Less than 10% travel may be required
