Janitorial Operations Coordinator – Airport Operations

Position Summary:
The Janitorial Operations Coordinator supports high-volume airport cleaning operations with a strong focus on recruiting, staffing, and client communication. This role is critical to ensuring all areas of the airport under our responsibility are consistently staffed with qualified personnel and maintained to the highest standards. The coordinator serves as a key liaison between the client and operations team, ensuring rapid response, clear communication, and seamless service in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruiting & Staffing:

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for janitorial staff to support a 24/7 airport operation, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Maintain a continuous pipeline of pre-qualified candidates to meet high turnover and fluctuating staffing needs
  • Coordinate airport badging, background checks, and security clearance requirements
  • Ensure all new hires are properly trained in airport protocols, safety standards, and site-specific procedures
  • Monitor staffing levels across lounges in multiple areas of the airport; proactively address shortages
  • Partner with supervisors to improve retention and reduce turnover in a high-demand environment

Client Communication & Relations:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for airport management and client representatives
  • Provide real-time communication regarding staffing levels, service updates, and issue resolution
  • Respond quickly to urgent client requests, including spill response, high-traffic cleaning needs, and special events
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs with clients to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded
  • Document and communicate client feedback, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in a security-sensitive, customer-facing environment

Compliance, Safety & Documentation:

  • Ensure all employees comply with airport security requirements, including ID badges and restricted access protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of employee credentials, training, and site access permissions
  • Reinforce adherence to OSHA standards and airport safety procedures
  • Track and report staffing metrics, service performance, and client satisfaction
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as required by airport authorities

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing coordination, or operations (airport, transportation, or large facility experience preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in a high-pressure, client-facing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing operational needs
  • Experience with high-volume staffing and/or 24/7 operations strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with background checks and security clearance processes is a plus
