Job Description:
Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) Creative Services Assistant to support marketing, communications, and storytelling initiatives across Barrett's four metropolitan Phoenix campuses.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to contribute to a wide range of projects. One day may involve covering an event, creating social media content, or interviewing students; another may focus on writing emails, updating digital content, supporting marketing campaigns, or coordinating communications projects.
The Creative Services Assistant serves as a key member of a collaborative communications and marketing team that helps tell the stories of students, faculty, staff, and alumni while supporting recruitment, engagement, and college-wide initiatives that advance the visibility and impact of Barrett.
This position is eligible for ASU's Employee Qualified Tuition Reduction Program, part-time
offering the opportunity to pursue an ASU graduate degree while working part time. And, as a member of the ASU community, you'll also have access to professional development opportunities and the resources of one of the nation's largest and most innovative public universities.
The Creative Services Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of communications and marketing projects, including:
• Developing content for student, parent, faculty, staff, alumni, and prospective student audiences.
• Creating and scheduling social media content that highlights student experiences, events, achievements, and opportunities across Barrett's four campuses.
• Assisting with video projects, student and alumni spotlights, and other storytelling efforts that showcase the Barrett experience.
• Supporting event promotion and, when needed, helping capture photos, video, interviews, and other content at college events and activities.
• Organizing and maintaining photo, video, and marketing assets used across digital and print communications.
• Assisting with workflow management, project tracking, reporting, and other day-to-day marketing and communications operations.
• Collaborating with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to gather information and develop engaging content.

Essential Duties:
• Create and manage content across multiple communications channels, including email, social media, websites, newsletters, and marketing materials.
• Support the planning and execution of communications, marketing, and storytelling initiatives that advance Barrett's recruitment, engagement, and visibility goals.
• Develop and distribute email communications using Salesforce Marketing Cloud while ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and adherence to brand standards.
• Capture and curate content, including photography, video, interviews, and written stories, for use across digital and print platforms.
• Coordinate communications projects, digital assets while collaborating with campus partners and stakeholders.
• Oversee Barrett outdoor marketing including coordinating schedules, calendar, and assisting with installation and removal of banners, which requires the use of a ladder.
• Ensure communications align with ASU and Barrett brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and communication best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, business, film, media studies, English, or a related field preferred.
• Experience through employment, internships, student employment, volunteer work, freelance work, or campus involvement in communications, marketing, journalism, public
relations, content creation, social media, or related field.
• Demonstrated writing and editing experience, as evidenced through application materials, work experience, coursework, publications, or submitted writing sample.
• Experience creating content for social media, websites, newsletters, email marketing, blogs, digital publications, or other communications channels.
• Experience supporting events, outreach efforts, marketing campaigns, or communications initiatives.
• Familiarity with communications, marketing, design, project management, or content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Airtable, Microsoft Office, social
media management platforms like Hootsuite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar software.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Working Environment:
• Position involves a combination of desk-based work and attendance at meetings, events, and content production activities.
• Requires occasional travel between ASU campuses (Polytechnic, Downtown, West Valley, Tempe).
• May require occasional evening and weekend work for events.
• Position is in-person based on ASU's Tempe campus
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, and movement of marketing materials and the ability to use a standard-height ladder when supporting banner installation activities.
