About the job
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As the Technical Program Manager for Security Technology Global Rollouts, you will be the architectural anchor and operational engine behind the evolution of our global data center footprint. This role operates within the ASSET (Automation, Systems, Standards, Engineering and Technology) organization.
This is not a traditional project management role focused on tracking checklists. It is a highly technical, strategic leadership position where you will own the end-to-end strategy, engineering alignment, and execution of large-scale infrastructure initiatives. You will serve as the bridge between security lab testing teams and global construction and execution, collaborating with teams testing technology to create characters for global deployments. This role demands a unique combination of logical system design, physical brownfield deployment strategy, and zero-downtime risk management across existing operational sites.
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google .
Responsibilities
  • Define, scope, and drive execution strategy for security infrastructure programs from initial concepts through global deployment and stabilization.
  • Partner deeply with engineering and construction teams to map out project execution details and own implementation programs in partnership with local teams.
  • Mastermind the logistics of complex brownfield migrations, specifically upgrading live production environments with minimal to no downtime.
  • Identify technical, logistical, and supply-chain risks while establishing rigorous fallback and mitigation protocols to protect project timelines.
  • Serve as the central hub connecting disparate global teams. Translate deep technical complexities into clear, actionable executive roadmaps, and influence engineering priorities without direct authority.
