The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician III works as a specialist in multiple crafts or trades and also acts as a lead for the skilled labor force within their area. Work requires highly specialized knowledge, experience, and completing projects requiring a variety of crafts or trades, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, controls, and piping systems including hydronic, steam, and air, with an emphasis on troubleshooting in all areas.Job Description:

  • Make repairs to electrical, plumbing, andHVACsystems using the standard practices, tools, equipment, and materials associated with a variety of crafts involved in facility maintenance.
  • Plan and layout work, determine accurate and efficient methods, and diagnose and correct complications to maximize efficiency.
  • Analyze control issues and make necessary corrections to ensure action has eliminated the problem.
  • Read, interpret, and work from sketches, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to evaluate, analyze, and resolve problems.
  • Execute all aspects of the preventative maintenance process.
  • Provide daily progress reports to the manager regarding status of projects with regard to projected times to completion, difficulties encountered, and actions taken to remedy those problems.

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Technical/trade degree.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • Master plumber, electrician, or pipe fitter license - Commercial.
  • HVAC certification - Commercial.

Work Experience:
  • Five (5) years of experience with facility maintenance operations/functions/activities.
  • Experience withComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
