Job description

Job Title: Sanitation Employee

Location: Alma, KS

Shift: 3rd Shift (Mondayโ€“Friday, 10PM-6:30AM; extended hours and weekends may be required)

The Plant Hourly Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized production environment. This position performs routine sanitation and housekeeping duties throughout the facility, including waste removal, equipment cleaning, container washing, and general plant cleanup. The Sanitation Associate supports food safety, employee safety, and operational efficiency by following all sanitation procedures and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and waste materials from production lines and designated areas.
  • Transport waste materials to dumpsters, compactors, or other approved disposal locations.
  • Operate cardboard baling equipment safely and efficiently to prepare recyclable materials for shipment.
  • Clean and sanitize containers, totes, bins, utensils, and production equipment in designated washroom areas.
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties throughout production, warehouse, break room, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors and work surfaces.
  • Clean walls, drains, and other facility areas as assigned.
  • Replenish sanitation supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
  • Maintain sanitation equipment and cleaning tools in good condition.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements.
  • Comply with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to supervision.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to maintain efficient plant operations.
Qualifications
  • Perform repetitive hand & wrist motion throughout a shift.
  • Lift/push/pull 50+lbs as required (Occasional)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods to perform job related tasks.
  • Kneel/squat as necessary to complete job-related tasks.
  • Grasping & pinching motions to complete job-related tasks
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred
  • Prior experience in food handling/manufacturing
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Training
  • On the Job training provided
Work Environment
  • Position requires working in temperatures below 40ยฐF.
  • Standing/walking on concrete for a majority of the workday
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: $21.15 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift, 1.5 times rate for hours worked over 40 in a week
