Do you enjoy creating handcrafted candles and sharing your creativity with others? We are seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Candle Making Instructor to lead hands-on enrichment programs for youth and adults in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment.
The instructor will teach participants the fundamentals of candle making through engaging, hands-on projects that encourage creativity and self-expression. Students will learn about different waxes, wicks, fragrances, color blending, containers, decorative techniques, and safe candle-making practices while creating their own unique candles. The program is designed to build confidence, creativity, and crafting skills while providing an enjoyable and relaxing learning experience for participants of all skill levels.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging candle-making classes for beginner and intermediate participants.
  • Teach candle-making fundamentals, including wax selection, wick placement, fragrance blending, coloring, pouring techniques, and finishing methods.
  • Demonstrate proper handling of materials and emphasize safe crafting practices.
  • Encourage creativity, patience, and individual artistic expression through hands-on projects.
  • Provide individualized instruction while supporting participants with varying experience levels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace throughout each class.
  • Communicate professionally with participants, parents, and program staff.
  • Arrive prepared with lesson plans, supplies, and project materials.

Qualifications
  • Experience in candle making, crafting, DIY arts, or a related creative field preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching classes, workshops, or mentoring others is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of candle-making materials, techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication, organization, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to work with both youth and adult learners in a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Reliable, patient, creative, and passionate about sharing the art of candle making.
