How much do cpg deductions jobs pay per hour?

As of Aug 19, 2026, the average hourly pay for cpg deductions in the United States is $20.93, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $18.27 and $23.08 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are CPG deductions?

CPG deductions refer to the various financial deductions or chargebacks that occur in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, typically when retailers subtract amounts from payments to suppliers due to reasons such as promotional allowances, damages, shortages, or compliance issues. Managing CPG deductions is crucial because unresolved or incorrect deductions can significantly impact a company's revenue and profit margins. Effective deduction management involves identifying, validating, and resolving these deductions to ensure accurate financial records and maintain strong relationships with retail partners.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CPG deductions analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CPG Deductions Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a background in finance or accounting, often supported by a relevant degree. Proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, Excel, and deduction management software is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills help you resolve discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These skills ensure accurate financial reconciliation, minimize revenue loss, and maintain healthy relationships with retail partners.

What are some common challenges faced by CPG deductions analysts and how can they be managed?

CPG Deductions Analysts often encounter challenges such as reconciling high volumes of deduction claims, identifying unauthorized or invalid deductions, and balancing communication between internal teams and retail partners. To manage these challenges, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective use of deduction management software are essential. Collaborating closely with sales, customer service, and accounts receivable teams helps ensure timely resolution and prevents future disputes, while maintaining organized processes can reduce errors and workload stress.

Job description

Confido is the AI infrastructure powering CPG brands from deduction to production plan. We unify cash application, deductions, disputes, trade promotion management, forecasting, demand planning, and analytics in one integrated platform. The result: measurable time savings, smarter top- and bottom-line decisions, and the speed to scale.

Confido is trusted by 200+ brands managing $20B+ in revenue, including OLIPOP, Simple Mills, Dr. Squatch, Tropicana, and more.

Weโ€™ve achieved best-in-class growth and recently raised a $15M Series A led by Footwork Ventures and Y Combinator to accelerate our momentum.

The Role

The deductions and chargebacks space is notoriously manual, fragmented, and painful for CPG suppliers to manage. Confido is building the software to automate the disputes process from end to end.

This role will serve as the connection between our customers, our product, and the market. That means building the internal processes and documentation that keep the team aligned, staying close to customers to understand what they need and ensuring they're getting value from the product, and keeping a pulse on the market to inform where we're headed.

The role blends operational rigor with commercial curiosity, with a direct line into what gets built. You will report directly to the Product Lead for Disputes.

What youโ€™ll do:
  • Build and maintain internal processes, documentation, and playbooks that keep the disputes team and the broader organization aligned and operating efficiently
  • Engage with customers regularly to understand their workflows and needs, and synthesize those conversations into clear product opportunities
  • Support customers in understanding and getting value out of the product, serving as a knowledgeable point of contact for questions and feedback
  • Bridge the gap between what customers are experiencing, how our product functions, and ensuring roadmap decisions are grounded in real-world context
  • Conduct ongoing research into industry trends, alternative solutions, and market gaps to help shape product strategy and positioning
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Lead to scope features, pressure-test ideas, and move initiatives from concept to execution
What weโ€™re looking for:
  • 3+ years of experience in product, consulting, investment banking, investing or domain-focused roles (e.g., deductions, accounts receivable, CPG finance)
  • Analytical and structured thinking skills; able to break down complex processes and articulate what automated solutioning should look like
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate operational knowledge into written documentation and requirements to a wider audience
  • Exposure to and/or experience building financial workflows, process improvements, or working alongside a product or technical team is a plus
  • Deep curiosity about our customers and an excitement to become a subject matter expert in CPG and retail
  • Thrives in ambiguity with a bias toward execution; comfortable driving work forward without a lot of hand-holding
  • Willingness to work at our NYC Headquarters 5 days a week
Perks + Benefits
  • Equity
  • Paid Relocation
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 401(K) through Vestwell
  • Provided MacBook
  • Fully Paid Health, Dental, and Vision plans
  • Catered Lunches on Fridays
  • Nightly Team Dinners for those staying past 6:30pm
  • Unlimited coffee and snacks featuring our brands
