Sr. Digital Accessibility Analyst

Client's Digital Technology teams is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Digital Accessibility Analyst to join our team Digital Channels team. The Sr. Digital Accessibility Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that our digital products and services are accessible to individuals with disabilities, aligning with relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in digital accessibility, a deep understanding of accessibility guidelines, and the ability to lead accessibility initiatives across diverse projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply accessibility guidelines (WCAG, ADA/ACAA) to Client's Digital Channels
  • Conduct comprehensive audits on our Digital Channels (web/mobile) to ensure compliance using both manual and automated testing to ensure compliance
  • Perform usability testing with assistive technologies and conduct user testing involving individuals with disabilities to assess the effectiveness of accessibility features
  • Create and maintain documentation outlining accessibility guidelines, acceptance criteria, best practices, and standards for internal teams and stakeholders
  • Provide training and guidance to development, design and testing teams on creating accessible digital products
  • Work closely with designers, developers, content creators, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility into the design and development processes
  • Identify accessibility issues and collaborate with development teams by providing detailed and specific solutions to address the issues and ensure that digital assets comply with accessibility standards
  • Evaluate and recommend accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to improve the efficiency of the accessibility testing process.
  • Advocate for the needs and perspectives of individuals with disabilities within the organization, promoting a culture of inclusivity
  • Generate reports on accessibility metrics and progress to share with management and stakeholders
  • Ensure that digital products comply with legal requirements related to accessibility, addressing any potential legal risks

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years in digital accessibility, user experience (UX), or a related field
  • Experience conducting accessibility audits, evaluations, and implementing accessibility solutions
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG, ADA/ACAA
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies used by individuals with disabilities (e.g., VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText, TalkBack, Speak to Me)
  • Experience using accessibility testing tools and knowledge of best practices for testing digital products such as Deque Axe tools or similar
  • Understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on digital accessibility
  • Ability to collaborate with developers to implement accessibility features
  • Relevant certifications in digital accessibility, such as the IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals) Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certifications
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, testers, and content creators
  • Ability to advocate for accessibility principles and educate team members on best practice
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring accessibility requirements are met within project timelines
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on evolving accessibility standards, guidelines, and technologies
