River Hall Country Club is seeking reliable and motivated Golf Course Maintenance Associates to join our grounds team. This is an excellent opportunity to work outdoors, develop your skills in golf course maintenance, and play an important role in maintaining the exceptional course conditions our members and guests enjoy each day.
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour

About River Hall Country Club:
Located in Fort Myers, FL, River Hall Country Club is a semi-private golf and country club nestled within a beautifully planned residential community. The award-winning golf course, designed by Davis Love III and opened in 2007, stretches more than 7,000 yards and features a natural layout that winds throughout the River Hall community. The club also offers outstanding practice facilities, including a 400-yard double-sided driving range, expansive putting greens, and dedicated chipping and bunker areas.

Job purpose
Responsible for operating small equipment and performing all general hands-on grooming of the golf course and grounds.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Keeps all equipment in good, clean working condition.
  • Maintains a clean golf course and maintenance complex.
  • Reports all problems regarding equipment to the Mechanic and or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Completes duties as directed by supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates courtesy to all Members and Guests at all times.
  • Obeys all safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Two years of golf course maintenance experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Working conditions
Work is primarily outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements
Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 80 lbs., up to 40 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. constantly. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 4 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other equipment that may weigh 30 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.
Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
