Job description

Position Overview:

The Count Team Associate is responsible for actively participating in the Slot drop and counting and verifying all gaming revenues.  All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of Mount Airy Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform the collection and count of soft drop for slot machines with the focus on accuracy.
  • Accurately count slot drop and reconcile paperwork to the system reports for cash and gaming voucher transactions.  Report any discrepancies to the Income Audit Department.
  • Accurately count the drop from Poker and Table Games and reconcile paperwork to the system reports for various transactions.  Report any discrepancies to the Income Audit Department.
  • Responsible for operating cash  and coin counting equipment.
  • Complete all worksheets and reports accurately and legibly.
  • Comply with all cash handling procedures and the Internal Controls specific to the Count Room.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Communicate problems and issues to the Count Room Lead and/or Count Room Manager in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
  • Adept with mechanical devices preferred.
  • Must be able to be approved and maintain a valid PGCB license.

  • Continuously bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, bend, lift and push/pull.

  • Occasionally climb heights and reach above shoulder level.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment.

Other:

  • Must be able to function well in a noisy casino environment.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and verbal cues.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
