Job description

“Kawaii” (Japanese for cute) is now the #1 subculture for women globally. Blind boxes. Claw machines. Gashapon machines. But most importantly... never-ending cuteness.

Founded by a former TikTok executive, Utopic aspires to be the next big name in kawaii culture. By building a live service mobile game and portfolio of collectible toys, we aim to popularize a new generation of cute characters for kawaii fans around the world.

We are looking for a Game Producer to support execution and delivery across our live service mobile game, keeping the team moving fast without losing quality as we build out our world of cute characters. This is a part-time contract role (2-months). Join us to create a cultural phenomenon.

What you'll do:

  • Own the development pipeline for features and content, coordinating across design, art, and engineering teams
  • Implement and facilitate Agile/Scrum ways of working, ensure we stay on budget, timeline while flagging risks and tradeoffs
  • Test internal builds and oversee quality assurance to ensure releases meet the company’s quality expectations
  • Manage external relationships, including freelance artists, animators, and external development studios
  • Coordinate community playtests, including recruiting, vetting, scheduling, logistics, player incentives, feedback collection and synthesis
  • Support project management on cross-departmental workstreams

What you’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years of production experience, ideally in mobile game development, with direct experience on live service titles
  • Working understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and the full software development lifecycle
  • Passion for otaku/kawaii culture, gacha/cozy games, and toy collecting preferred
  • Experience managing freelancers, external studios, or vendor relationships preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with comfort using tools such as Jira and Google Suite
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range:

The hourly rate range for this position is between $26–$41/hour USD for US-based candidates, £15–£24/hour GBP for UK-based candidates. This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience. Candidates outside of the US and UK are welcome to apply.
