SUMMARY: Valicy is looking for The Game Designer is responsible for creating, evaluating, and refining game concepts, mechanics, features, and player experiences for land-based gaming products.
This role sits at the intersection of creativity, AI-assisted exploration, player psychology, product judgment, and practical execution. The ideal candidate can generate many possible directions quickly, identify which ideas are worth pursuing, and turn strong concepts into clear, usable design documentation for the team.
This role requires someone who actively uses AI and emerging tools to accelerate ideation, pressure-test ideas, improve design quality, and move from rough concept to production-ready direction with speed and clarity.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.
-Develop original game concepts, mechanics, features, themes, bonuses, and player experiences.
-Leverage emerging tools throughout the design process to accelerate ideation, generate variations, compare directions, and refine concepts.
-Evaluate design ideas based on player engagement, feasibility, complexity, production impact, regulatory fit, and business value.
-Translate rough ideas into clear design intent, player flows, feature descriptions, and implementation-ready documentation.
-Collaborate with engineering, art, QA and leadership to move concepts from prototype toward production quality.
-Iterate quickly based on feedback, testing, performance data, team review, and changing priorities.
-Stay current with emerging AI tools, game design trends, casino gaming products, and new workflow possibilities to consistently evolve the role.
-Identify design and workflow friction, then proactively suggest better approaches.
-Communicate design intent, player psychology, and product goals clearly during math, prize-structure, and feature discussions.
-Use AI responsibly and thoughtfully, with awareness of quality, originality, data sensitivity, brand risk, and production standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Strong game design fundamentals.
-Deep understanding of gameplay systems, feature design, player motivation, pacing, reward structures, and player experience.
-Sharp creative judgment with the ability to quickly identify which ideas are worth pursuing, refining, or discarding.
-Demonstrated ability to use AI tools as a meaningful part of the creative and design process.
-Strong awareness of emerging AI capabilities and a proactive approach to learning and applying new tools.
-Ability to make clear design decisions with incomplete information.
-Strong analytical and creative thinking skills, especially when comparing multiple possible design directions.
-Clear communication and documentation skills.
-Ability to balance creativity, feasibility, complexity, production impact, player value, and business goals.
-Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements and undefined processes.
-Low ego, high ownership, strong follow-through, and a team-first mindset.
Preferred Requirements:
-Experience with casino gaming, slot machine development, land-based gaming, or regulated gaming products.
-Familiarity with math-adjacent game design, prize structures, volatility, player psychology, or reward pacing.
-Experience creating custom tools to assist and supercharge your workflow.
-Experience working with engineers, artists, QA, or production teams through a full development cycle.
