Who:
An established professional services firm is seeking a Finance Manager / Controller with 10–15 years of experience in an A&E, CPA, or law firm environment where revenue is driven by time and billing.

What:
This individual will oversee all financial operations in a hybrid Controller/CFO capacity, leading accounting, compliance, reporting, profitability analysis, and strategic financial planning.

When:
This is an immediate full-time opportunity created due to a planned retirement transition.

Where:
This position is based in Atlanta, GA with four days per week in the office.

Position Overview:

The Finance Manager / Controller will serve as the senior financial leader for a growing professional services firm, overseeing accounting, HR-related compliance coordination, financial reporting, insurance and audit management, and strategic financial operations, while preparing to fully assume executive-level financial leadership responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and supervise accounting, administrative, and HR support staff.
● Manage monthly operational and financial closings and oversee quarterly break-even analysis.
● Ensure compliance with all government regulations and required filings in coordination with HR.
● Oversee annual audits and respond to insurance carrier audit requests.
● Manage corporate insurance renewals and financial risk processes.
● Implement procedures to improve profitability and operational efficiency within a time-and-billing environment.
● Partner with senior leadership and project managers to provide financial insight and forecasting.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
● 10–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a professional services firm (A&E, CPA, or law required).
● Experience serving in a hybrid Controller/CFO capacity within a small to mid-sized firm.
● Strong understanding of time and billing revenue models.
● Direct involvement in monthly closes, operational reporting, and annual audits.
● Experience with cloud-based accounting software (Deltek Vision a plus).
● Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to grow into a top financial role.
