Job description

The Vice President of Operations is a key position on LHR's leadership team. The Vice President of Operations will lead LHR departments in material procurement, National vendor partnerships compliance, subcontractors, and warranty.
This position must have extensive background in construction, disaster recovery, emergency response and be willing and able to travel 60% of the year.
Main responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of support personnel
  • Responsible for Warranty Claims
  • Responsible for subcontractor correction (including escalated / removing subcontractor from site) as it relates to the contractual agreement
  • Finding and identifying new subcontractors in all markets
  • Responsible for Vetting all Subcontractors - collaboration with all departments
  • Risk Management as it relates to subcontractor verification
  • All subcontractor agreements and change orders go through operations
  • All purchasing (central location) including: HO-6 packages in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure purchasing is within budget / Work Order System to be established by Finance
  • Collaboration with Construction permitting specific jobs - some require emergency permiting
  • All county, state and federal licensing agreements
  • Open and close projects in ProCore
  • Coordination with Construction and Project Directors
  • All equipment rental coordination
  • Program / vendor rebates
  • National vendor relationships
  • P&L ownership and resource allocation of operations department
  • Become a proficient Procore Superuser
  • Responsible for subcontractor correction (including escalated / removing subcontractor from site) as it relates to the contractual agreement
  • All county, state and federal licensing agreements
  • Open and close projects in Procore
  • Coordination with Construction and Estimating
  • Documentation in Procore
  • On Call Rotation

  • Disaster Recovery Construction experience is required.
  • 8-10 years of directly related construction, restoration, reconstruction, or disaster recovery experience, including field operations experience.
  • Project take-offs and in-depth knowledge of construction materials.
  • Knowledge of remodel, reconstruction, and restoration projects, including documentation, safety requirements, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements. Knowledge of state and local governmental safety requirements is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Knowledge of Procore is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and clients.
  • Professional communication, interpersonal, customer service, written, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to interpret and execute verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Must be able to wear required safety gear while on job sites.
  • Ability to safely operate, climb, and perform work on ladders (1-2 stories, 24-28 feet).
  • Ability to operate a smartphone and email for day-to-day operations, communications, and expense reporting.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle and travel between locations.
  • May be required to provide own basic tools (power drill, power saw, screwdrivers, level, hammer, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis and perform physical activities including sitting, standing, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to input data into information systems and communicate effectively to gather and provide operational information.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel Requirements:
  • Approximately 60% travel is required.
  • Extensive travel may be required during hurricane season and active catastrophe events.
  • Candidates must be able to travel on short notice in support of disaster recovery and emergency response operations.

Working Conditions:
  • Typical outdoor work environment year-round, including frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operation of powered equipment using proper safety techniques and tools.
  • Regular exposure to environmental conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and other weather-related elements.
  • Overtime and on-call responsibilities may be required.
