Job description

Manages, inspects, and coordinates Parks facility construction projects with private/County contractors, and private engineers and architects to ensure compliance with all applicable County/state/local regulatory specifications/codes/standards and approved contractual plans. Interprets construction sketches/blueprints; notifies management of any possibility of error/deviation from good construction practices. Supervises work/acts as the Department's liaison for construction projects. Work is reviewed through construction reports and periodic on-site evaluation of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of construction project supervision experience in skilled civil and structural construction, including road, curb, drainage or underground utility (sewer/water/electrical/data/irrigation), distribution and collection systems, wood/metal frame and Concrete Block Structure (CBS) work that includes two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
• Performing cost feasibility reports
• Assessing work to provide cost estimates
• Working with contractual services
• Establishing grades through the use of survey levels
• Performing drafting and design work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience working with oral/written contractual services in civil construction projects,
• Experience in field construction layout or survey work,
• Knowledge of structural, pathway, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or underground utility construction requirements (must specify on application), and
• Possession of a General Contractor license.
