Job description

Blu Dog Contractors is currently building and remodeling high-end custom residential homes on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and in Southern Maine. Blu Dog, a company that builds New Hampshire’s Seacoast and Southern Maine communities while upholding respect and integrity, is seeking a skilled framing carpenter to join a growing team. Our rapidly expanding business can provide the right candidate with the opportunity to advance their career into supervisory roles, such as a foreman, with paid training. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Possess a sense of accountability, the ability to accept constructive criticism, and an eagerness to learn.

- Being able to adapt to extreme weather and work conditions.

- Ability to think critically and independently with proficient problem-solving skills. 

- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the crew and clients.

- Measure, cut, and build according to the code and specs set by leadership.

- Frame and install windows, doors, exterior trim, decking, and siding. 

- Comprehension of plans, blueprints, and leadership direction. 

- Maintain work quality and cleanliness to company standards. 

- Punctuality, including arriving at the job site on time as scheduled.  


Requirements of the position:

- Experience in custom residential framing carpentry. 

- Knowledge of building materials, including but not limited to their uses and applications. 

- A tool belt, various hand tools.

- Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license in good standing

- The ability to lift and move heavy materials and perform physically demanding labor for extended periods of time. 


Preferred skills, but not required for the position:

- Experience in finish carpentry, siding

- OSHA-10 certification

- Lull certification


Compensation $25.00 - $40.00/hr and is negotiable based on prior experience.
