Job description

Only candidates located in the Denver area will be considered for this position.

We are looking for a high-caliber Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a strategic role designed for a Denver-area professional who has experience in commercial drywall and framing, with the local industry connections necessary to drive business growth.

As a remote-first position, you will have the autonomy to manage the pre-construction pipeline while leveraging your local network to secure new opportunities in the Front Range market.

Compensation:

$60,000 - $150,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Cost Takeoffs & Bidding: Execute digital takeoffs and estimates for commercial drywall and metal stud framing using Stack Estimating Software.
  • Business Development: Leverage existing relationships with Denver-based General Contractors and developers to identify upcoming projects and expand our local footprint.
  • Bid Management: Manage the full bid lifecycle through BuildingConnected, ensuring timely submissions and active follow-up on outstanding proposals.
  • Proposal Creation: Craft detailed, professional project proposals that clearly define scope, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
  • Project Management Integration: Collaborate with field teams to ensure a seamless handoff from the estimating phase to project execution, providing oversight on cost controls and material procurement.
  • Lead: Help train entry-level estimators in proper techniques to become more self-sufficient. Review their takeoff and estimates for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.

Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is needed
  • Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and very strong math skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software
  • Stellar communication, project management, and time-management skills are crucial
  • Possess a Bachelors’ degree in civil engineering, construction management, accounting, or related field

  • Denver Market Expertise: Extensive experience working within the Denver construction landscape, with a deep understanding of local labor rates, codes, and vendor pricing.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level use of Stack Estimating Software.

  • Advanced proficiency in BuildingConnected for bid management.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams, or Google Sheets and Google Meet).

  • Industry Knowledge: Proven track record in Commercial Drywall and Framing estimating for projects of varying scales.

  • Strategic Networking: A "growth mindset" with the ability to act as a brand ambassador to local GCs.

  • Autonomous Workflow: Ability to work effectively in a remote/home-office environment while maintaining high productivity and meeting strict bid deadlines.
