Division 8 Detailer – Remote

Location: Remote (U.S.) or Austin/Dallas, TX

About the Opportunity

We're partnering with a well-established and highly respected Division 8 contractor seeking an experienced Division 8 Detailer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and has extensive experience detailing a wide variety of commercial Division 8 projects.

Position Overview

The Division 8 Detailer will be responsible for managing commercial projects from initial review through final submittals, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and exceptional quality throughout the detailing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate shop drawings and submittal packages using COMSENSE
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Develop complete door, frame, and hardware schedules
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform material takeoffs and verify project quantities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and accessibility requirements
  • Manage revisions and maintain project documentation
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial Division 8 (Doors, Frames & Hardware) detailing experience
  • COMSENSE proficiency is required
  • Experience detailing a broad range of commercial project types, including healthcare, education, hospitality, multi-family, government, industrial, and office projects
  • Strong understanding of architectural drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, life safety requirements, and ADA standards
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
  • DHI certification is a plus
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Experience working closely with architects, general contractors, and installation teams
