Job description

DevOps Engineer

Location: Frisco, TX | Work Arrangement: On-site | Duration: 3-month contract with possible extension.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CI/CD Engineer for a 3-month on-site contract opportunity with our client in Frisco, TX. The ideal candidate will support and enhance Jenkins-based pipelines, develop deployment automation with Ansible, and contribute to reliable Windows and cloud deployment workflows.

Key Responsibilities

·         Support, maintain, and extend Jenkins pipelines, including Jenkinsfile/Groovy development, job configuration, and plugin management.

·         Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for deployment automation, including WinRM-based deployments to Windows targets.

·         Create and maintain YAML configuration for pipelines, playbooks, and deployment processes.

·         Develop PowerShell scripts to automate Windows deployment tasks and operational workflows.

·         Work within Git branching strategies and support pull request-driven pipeline triggers.

·         Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability, repeatability, and release efficiency.

Required Skills

·         Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Jenkinsfile, Groovy, job configuration, and pipeline administration.

·         Strong experience with Ansible playbooks, roles, and deployment automation.

·         Experience supporting Windows deployment targets using WinRM.

·         Proficiency with YAML configuration and PowerShell scripting.

·         Solid understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and pull request-based CI/CD triggers.

·         Ability to work independently and quickly contribute to active pipeline initiatives.

Preferred Skills

·         Experience with stage-to-production deployment gating and release approval workflows.

·         Experience with artifact promotion and release management practices.

·         Experience migrating jobs from legacy schedulers to modern CI/CD platforms.

·         Exposure to Google Cloud Functions, secret managers, and cloud-based deployment patterns.
