Windows QA Engineer (testing app deployment & OS deployment software)
About the role
Aiden Technologies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Windows QA Engineer with a strong background in IT systems, endpoint management, and Windows environments. This role blends quality assurance with IT support expertise, ensuring reliability, performance, and usability across Windows-based systems and infrastructure.
What you will own
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Windows-based applications and systems.
  • Validate software packages, installations, upgrades, and configurations in Windows environments.
  • Perform QA validation on endpoint management solutions, including Microsoft Intune deployments.
  • Test and troubleshoot Windows Autopilot and bare-metal OS deployments and task sequence issues across multiple versions (Windows 10/11, Windows Server).
  • Publish, deploy, and troubleshoot application packages in Microsoft Intune.
  • Validate file system operations, permissions, and enterprise file management processes.
  • Perform regression, functional, and system testing across enterprise IT workflows.
  • Document defects clearly and work with development to drive resolution.
  • Support automation initiatives where applicable to improve QA efficiency.
Required qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Windows endpoint management.
  • Hands-on experience building OS deployment images and task sequences for Windows 10/11 and Windows Server.
  • Experience publishing and deploying application packages with Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management platforms and troubleshooting failed deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of software packaging, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Background in IT Helpdesk or Desktop Support environments.
  • Solid understanding of file systems, permissions, and enterprise file management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred background
  • 3-6+ years of experience in QA Engineering with strong Windows ecosystem exposure.
  • Experience with test automation tools or scripting (PowerShell preferred).
  • Familiarity with Azure-based environments and cloud-managed endpoints.
  • Exposure to security practices, patching, and vulnerability validation.
  • Experience in enterprise IT environments supporting multiple users/endpoints.
