Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

A training position that is part of a high-performing, customer focused team that will provide technical training at all Equipment Depot locations. Must be flexible and adapt to an ever changing work environment. Must demonstrate ability to be self-motivating, hard working, organized and goal driven. Provides consistent technical training support (that is, one way of doing business) across all Equipment Depot locations through class instruction, one- on -one on the job training in the field, or on the phone. Must possess good computer skills and ability to build technical classes including materials and training manuals. Position will require individual to conduct operator safety training, technical communications support on the phone or in the field and to conduct technical skills assessment interviews with technician candidates as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Conduct technical training on all products Equipment Depot sells and services to Equipment Depot Technicians
  • Conduct technical training on all products Equipment Depot sells and services to Equipment Depot customers and other material handling dealers
  • Conduct Operator Safety Training to Equipment Depot employees and customers
  • Conduct Operator Safety Train the Trainer training to Equipment Depot customers
  • Develops technical training classes
  • Assists Technical Communicators taking calls and  working with Technicians to resolve technical problems in the field/shop
  • Conducts initial technical skills assessments with technician candidates as well as existing technicians 
  • Works with HR and Technician Supervisors to provide updates  on progression of technicians through TCDP program
     

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong communication skills
  • High degree of technical knowledge of industrial equipment. 
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proven problem solving ability. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate across all functional groups and geographic locations (“One Equipment Depot” mindset).

Education: Minimum high school diploma
Experience: Prefer at least 5 years experience as a technician. Prior training experience a plus. 
Computer Skills: Good knowledge of computer operation and ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel 
Other Requirements: Strong organizational, communication and customer skills. Ability to facilitate change
