Job description

Job Title: Surgical / Operating Room Tech
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration:ย 16 Weeks
Position Type:ย Contract
Travel Pay: Up To $2,570/weekly
Local Pay: $55/hour

Shift Details:
Evening Shift
Mix of 8 Hour & 12 Hour Shifts
Shift Times Include:
11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
40 Hours Weekly

Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Surgical / Operating Room Tech for an exciting Contract assignment in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments for surgical procedures
  • Perform scrub duties while maintaining sterile technique during operative cases
  • Assist surgeons, nurses, and surgical teams during procedures
  • Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for operations
  • Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs during surgical cases
  • Support trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, ENT, vascular, GYN, bariatric, GU, and neurosurgery procedures
  • Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and organization of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Maintain infection control standards and patient safety throughout procedures
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation between surgical cases
  • Document surgical counts and maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience required
  • Recent experience within the last 4 years in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center required
  • Surgical Tech Certification required
  • Scrub experience required
  • OB Scrub experience required
  • Strong experience in trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, ENT, vascular, GYN, neurosurgery, bariatric, and GU procedures
  • Acute care hospital or teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal orientation and supervision require
