Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
  • Escort each patient to the operatory in a timely manner
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery and help monitor vital signs and anesthesia levels
  • Confirm with medical history with patient and make any necessary changes needed
  • Confirm the patient is aware of and educated on the treatment being performed
  • Assist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing any necessary materials during surgery.
  • Accurately document patient information and surgical details into the patientโ€™s electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist with post-operative care instructions and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Stock all operatories and designated sterilization area(s).
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Requirements:
  • Must maintain certification and/or license renewals as required by the state.
  • Must excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team.
  • May be required to travel between office locations. Must be insurable by the companyโ€™s insurance.
  • Must be CPR Certified
  • Dexterity and manual skills required for handling surgical instruments and assisting with procedures.
