Surgical Reprocessing Technician

Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Coordinator/Manager/Director, the Surgical Reprocessing Technician is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing all surgical products used to support physicians and the surgical team in various departments, including inpatient, outpatient, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Delivery Room, and satellite locations. The technician documents and monitors all sterilization processes, ensuring compliance with standards for methods such as steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants. They supply various departments by meeting and anticipating instrumentation needs, preparing procedure-specific case carts, and maintaining sterile supply management principles. Additionally, they work with surgical specialty teams to ensure supplies, equipment, instruments, and implants are available as per the surgeon's preference card.
Required Qualifications:
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
- Computer skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Central Service Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical terminology course.
- BLS certification preferred.
