Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a busy Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. In this role, you will assist surgeons during a variety of complex cardiovascular procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the surgical team has the instruments and supplies needed for successful patient outcomes.
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Travel contract assignment
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room for cardiovascular surgeries.
- Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and specialty supplies for each procedure.
- Scrub and assist surgeons during open heart and vascular procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments and maintaining an organized sterile field.
- Perform instrument counts before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and sterile processing standards.
- Assist with patient positioning, room turnover, and preparation for subsequent cases.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other OR staff to provide exceptional patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience required.
- Experience scrubbing open heart and complex cardiovascular procedures preferred.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Previous travel experience is a plus but not required.
