Job description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Surgical Technologists and OR Technicians seeking a dynamic contract role within a leading orthopedic sports surgery setting. This position requires adaptability and expertise in a fast-paced environment, providing essential support to surgical teams focused on orthopedic procedures.

Schedule:

  • 4x10 hour shifts per week
  • Hours: 6:15am – 4:45pm
  • Rotating days off based on department needs

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an ORT or Surgical Technologist (certified or non-certified)
  • Travel experience in healthcare assignments
  • Orthopedic surgery experience is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, and operating room protocols
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain focus during high-volume cases
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Current BLS certification required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items during operations
  • Handle and care for surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficiency and patient safety
  • Assist with room turnover and ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
  • Remain flexible in your shift days based on fluctuating departmental requirements
