Highlights:

Summary: The Central Sterile Technician shall be responsible for decontamination, cleaning, assembling, wrapping, and/or containerizing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment and their subsequent sterilization/sanitizing, through steam, gas, plasmac, or other required methods. This individual may also equip case carts and patient care equipment for use. The Technician will maintain and troubleshoot all equipment involved in the decontamination and cleaning of surgical instruments, equipment, and case carts. This individual is also responsible for testing and report any issue or problems with the sterilization equipment, preparation, and delivery of all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures, and medical carts. This position involves both the Decontamination and Processing areas of Central Sterile Services. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in medical supply, surgical instruments, and equipment preferred.

License/Certification:

None

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
