Job description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist (Certified or Non-Certified) or Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • In-depth understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room best practices
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout operative procedures
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and infection control
Schedule:
  • Full-time, contract position
  • Shift details will be discussed during the interview process
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies for each case
  • Assist surgeons and nurses during operations, ensuring instruments and materials are readily available
  • Maintain a sterile environment before, during, and after procedures, adhering strictly to infection control standards
  • Monitor and manage surgical instruments, tracking inventory and supporting replenishment as needed
  • Collaborate with perioperative nurses and anesthesia providers to optimize patient care and workflow efficiency
  • Safely handle specimens and support post-operative clean-up and equipment care
