Contract Packaging and Manufacturing Company has an immediate need for a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor is required to support the growth of a National Packaging Company. The candidate selected for this position must have an entrepreneurial spirit and must have experience with all operational functions within a high-volume production facility including extensive production floor management and direct contact with our customers. At least 5 yearsโ€™ experience in a similar role is required.


The Production Supervisor will be responsible for: safety, maintaining the production workflow, as well as the production line set-up and labor utilization. Also, they must also drive Continuous Improvement, control labor costs during each shift, and display strong communication skills. Strong leadership skills and communication skills are critical to the success of the position.

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

  • Accomplishes project results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A 4-year BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of Supervision with Production position
  • Provide leadership to full time and temporary staffing.
  • Previous experience managing processes and process improvements
  • Previous experience in production planning
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong reasoning, analytical, budget, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel along with WMS experience.
  • Previous experience managing diverse teams of 100+ Associates.
  • Available to support multiple shifts as required.
  • Must be able to be considered for future promotional opportunities.
