About Our Client:

Our client is Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). This is an on-site position and the contract is expected to last approximately 6 months with a possibility to be hired on permanently by RIT (temp to perm role). The pay rate is $17.00/hr- $18.50/hr, with the hours of Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm. The perfect candidate will have at least 1 year experience in a general grounds position and must have a valid drivers license.

Job Responsibilites:

  • Cleanup of branches, leaves, trimmings, stone.
  • Shoveling, digging post holes, moving stone.
  • Edging mulch beds and spreading mulch.
  • Planting trees, shrubs and flowers.
  • Weeding and edging mulch beds.
  • String trimming and push mowing borders, etc.
  • Filling potholes in asphalt areas and sinkholes around buildings.
  • Small amount of furniture and appliance moving as necessary.
  • Tree and hedge trimming.
  • Understand MSDS sheets and safe work practices.
  • Comply with OSHA, NYS Building Codes, EPA, and DEC requirements.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Must have prior general grounds experience and basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Reliable transportation to Henrietta, NY.
