Position Requirementsย 

  • Current eligibility for or possession of a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education (specific disability categories are accepted) and Administration & Supervisionย 

  • Minimum of a Masterโ€™s degree in Special Education or Administration & Supervisionย 

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior administrative experienceย 

  • Experience teaching and working with at-risk adolescents and students in a therapeutic setting preferredย 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsย 

  • Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, behavioral management, assessment, and educational complianceย 

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writingย 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applicationsย 

Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesย 

  • Provide administrative oversight for the Dominion Academy Therapeutic Day School programย 

  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal Special Education Regulations and curriculum standardsย 

  • Supervise and evaluate instructors and school staff to ensure effective implementation of curriculum and instructional practicesย 

  • Lead and support professional development opportunities for staffย 

  • Promote a positive, safe, and therapeutic school cultureย 

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders to support student successย 

  • Support students in achieving academic, emotional, and behavioral goalsย 

  • Monitor school policies related to attendance, discipline, and dress codeย 

  • Coordinate emergency management procedures and day-to-day school operationsย 

  • Assist with budgeting, grant proposals, and allocation of school resourcesย 

  • Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and administrative recordsย 

  • Develop and implement school procedures and operational guidelinesย
