Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Coating Technician to join our industrial coatings and plant solutions group, Engineered Resin Solutions. Engineered Resin Solutions provides epoxy-based coatings solutions to customers across power, energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, and wastewater industries. If there is a corrosion or water resistance need, ERS has a solution. Beyond our epoxy-based solutions, ERS thrives in solving major pain points for customers in industrial and plant settings where repair and maintenance needs are required. We are creative and think outside the box for our customers, partnering with outside disciplines to deliver solutions.
As a field-based Industrial Coating Technician, you will be responsible for installing our various epoxy systems at job sites and ensuring the highest quality execution and safety. This position involves fieldwork with travel requirements along the East Coast, which may occasionally necessitate overnight accommodations.
You will be joining during a very exciting time of high growth in a fast-paced industry and work environment.
Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Surface preparation and installation of our various coatings systems on equipment and industrial surfaces.
  • Adhere to proper surface preparation best practices
  • Full compliance with all customer site safety requirements including hot work, lock out tag out, confined space, working at heights, etc.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality execution and safety
  • Daily job progress communication with ERS' Construction Manager
  • Maintain professionalism and customer service mindset at all times
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Occasional shop support in the ASME fabrication and machine shop including bending and cutting parts, shop organization, and material pickup and delivery

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
  • Prior working experience in a construction or field installation trade
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • No limitations on the ability to bend, walk, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • High levels of integrity and work ethic
  • Ability to travel frequently along the East Coast including overnight accommodations
  • Ability to work off-hours/weekends as required for certain shutdown/turnaround jobs
  • Ability to pass customer specific safety and regulatory training requirements such as confined space, respirator fit tests, and general chemical safety site training

Preferred:
  • Prior application experience with industrial coatings including surface preparation and blasting
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Experience with Lock Out/Tag Out
  • Confined space trained
  • Hazwoper 24 certified
  • Forklift operator certified or ability to become certified after hire
  • Knowledge of PPE requirements in industrial settings
