Four Square Industrial Constructors, LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright Superintendent to lead field operations for equipment installation, plant maintenance, shutdowns, structural modifications, and industrial construction projects. This position provides hands-on leadership for millwright crews while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Industrial Millwright Superintendent will plan, coordinate, and supervise crews performing installation, removal, alignment, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery and process equipment. The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader with strong mechanical aptitude, proven crew-management skills, and the ability to work effectively in active manufacturing and industrial plant environments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise millwright crews on industrial construction, maintenance, equipment-installation, and shutdown projects.
• Plan daily work activities, assign manpower, coordinate equipment and materials, and monitor progress against project schedules.
• Review drawings, equipment manuals, rigging plans, installation procedures, scopes of work, and customer specifications.
• Direct the installation, removal, setting, alignment, leveling, grouting, repair, and startup support of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Supervise work involving pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, drives, compressors, fans, blowers, material-handling systems, process equipment, and related components.
• Coordinate rigging and lifting activities, including crane picks, forklift operations, chain falls, come-alongs, gantries, jacking, skidding, and machinery-moving operations.
• Ensure proper precision alignment using dial indicators, laser alignment equipment, levels, optical instruments, and other measurement tools.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, plant personnel, subcontractors, equipment vendors, electricians, pipefitters, welders, and structural-steel crews.
• Maintain daily reports, manpower records, time sheets, job progress reports, material needs, equipment needs, and documentation required by the project.
• Identify field conflicts, schedule impacts, safety concerns, and changes in scope; communicate promptly with project management.
• Enforce company safety policies, customer requirements, pre-task planning, lockout/tagout procedures, confined-space requirements, fall protection, hot-work permits, and housekeeping expectations.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and crew planning meetings.
• Inspect completed work for quality, proper installation, alignment, cleanliness, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain productive customer relationships and represent Four Square Industrial Constructors professionally on every project.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of industrial millwright, machinery installation, plant maintenance, or heavy-equipment setting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading millwright crews, preferably in industrial construction, manufacturing, power generation, chemical, food-processing, aggregate, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong working knowledge of machinery alignment, leveling, grouting, rigging, equipment setting, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, and process equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment drawings, installation manuals, mechanical drawings, structural drawings, rigging plans, and project schedules.
• Experience planning and safely directing heavy rigging and equipment-moving activities.
• Proven ability to manage manpower, equipment, material needs, schedule priorities, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
• Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions, and communicate effectively with management, customers, and craft personnel.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and customer-required drug screening, background checks, and site-specific orientations.
• Ability to perform work in industrial environments, including climbing, lifting, working at heights, working around operating equipment, and working extended hours when required, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
• NCCER Millwright certification or comparable documented experience.
• Advanced rigging, signalperson, forklift, aerial-lift, confined-space, and fall-protection training.
• Experience with laser shaft alignment, vibration-related maintenance, precision leveling, machinery grouting, and equipment commissioning.
• Experience supervising outage, turnaround, or shutdown work.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, email, daily reporting, labor tracking, and basic project scheduling.
