Summary/Objective:
The Industrial Piping Designer/Planner will be responsible for the design and build/layout of industrial process piping and commercial piping systems. This is a hands-on role working with field teams, engineers, and fabricators to bring projects to life.
Essential Functions:
  • Design and build of industrial process piping and commercial piping systems
  • Understand and reading of plain views drawing and P&ID's
  • Verifying piping routes and layouts for the field
  • Creating isometric drawings for shop fabrication using programs such as AutoCAD, BIM, and other 3-D Modeling
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy and constructability
  • Process tubing ETC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility: No
Required:
  • 3 - 5 years related design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably in a construction environment)
  • Knowledge of piping systems such as Steam & condensate, chilled water, food grade process piping, Pharmaceutical, Teflon lined system, Chemical piping system ETC.
  • Knowledge of piping materials and proper installation methods for Stainless steel, carbon steel, CPVC, HDPE, Teflon lined, containment piping, Copper, instrument tubing,
  • Experience with AutoCAD/BIM/3-D Modeling
  • Must be able to complete design projects start to finish, while working independently
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available to work assigned schedules

The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment:
  • Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
  • Position will require occasional visits to construction sites

Physical Demands:
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines

Travel:
  • May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight)

Preferred:
  • 4-8 years of Pipe Fitting field experience
  • Industrial construction or fabrication background
  • Prior military experience
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
