Executive Director, Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Platforms

Location: Coral Gables, Florida

This is a full-time, on-site position in Coral Gables, Florida. Candidates must have experience managing Microsoft 365 and enterprise communication and collaboration platforms.

Position Overview

North Point Technology is seeking an experienced Executive Director, Communication and Collaboration Systems to lead the strategy, operation, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise communication and productivity platforms within a large university environment.

The Executive Director will oversee platforms used by employees, students, and university affiliates, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Box, Qualtrics, Power BI, and integrated AI productivity tools.

The ideal candidate has extensive enterprise IT leadership experience, strong Microsoft 365 knowledge, and a proven ability to manage cloud-based collaboration platforms in a complex, security-focused organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy and daily operation of enterprise communication, messaging, and collaboration platforms.
  • Ensure the reliable performance of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace dual-tenant environments.
  • Oversee enterprise platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Box, Qualtrics, and Power BI.
  • Develop long-term technology strategies for collaboration systems, workforce planning, resource allocation, and service delivery.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, Gemini for Google Workspace, and Zoom AI Companion.
  • Ensure AI and collaboration tools are implemented in compliance with privacy, cybersecurity, and data-protection requirements.
  • Establish effective account provisioning and deprovisioning processes for employees, students, affiliates, retirees, alumni, and former employees.
  • Collaborate with identity and integration teams to manage APIs, Single Sign-On configurations, and automated provisioning workflows.
  • Partner with Information Security to manage email filtering, threat protection, phishing mitigation, risk assessments, security controls, and incident response.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards for service health, platform adoption, license utilization, operational performance, and other key metrics.
  • Oversee tier-three technical support, technical documentation, training resources, and incident resolution.
  • Lead enterprise-wide technology projects from planning through successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, Integration, Finance, and university leadership teams.
  • Manage strategic relationships with Microsoft, Google, Zoom, Box, and other technology vendors.
  • Optimize enterprise software licensing, operating costs, service performance, and vendor agreements.
  • Keep senior leadership informed of technology risks, opportunities, advancements, barriers, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal controls, and university policies.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience leading enterprise communication, messaging, and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience administering or overseeing Microsoft 365 and Office 365 environments.
  • Experience implementing and integrating cloud-based enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Box, Google Workspace, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience working with information security professionals.
  • Knowledge of email security, threat protection, phishing prevention, and incident-response procedures.
  • Experience with identity management, APIs, Single Sign-On, and automated provisioning.
  • Project and program management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, licensing agreements, and enterprise service contracts.
  • Ability to develop technology strategies, operating plans, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical information to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience managing both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Gemini for Google Workspace, Zoom AI Companion, or similar enterprise AI tools.
  • Experience with Power BI reporting, service-health dashboards, adoption analytics, and license-utilization analysis.
  • Experience administering or overseeing Qualtrics.
  • Experience supporting technology platforms within higher education, healthcare, research, or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements involving student, healthcare, or research information.
  • Experience overseeing tier-three support and enterprise incident management.
  • Project Management Professional certification or comparable project management certification.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant information technology experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing an Office 365 or Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Demonstrated project management and cross-functional leadership experience.
  • An appropriate combination of relevant education, professional experience, and certifications may be considered.
