Microsoft Copilot SME (M365) - AI Adoption & Enablement
Pay Range: $85/hour to $125/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a Microsoft Copilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead enterprise-wide adoption and enablement of Copilot for Microsoft 365. This role focuses on driving AI adoption across business functions by integrating Copilot into daily workflows, improving productivity, and ensuring alignment with governance, security, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot (M365), strong communication skills, and a proven ability to translate AI capabilities into practical business applications. This is a non-development role focused on user enablement, change management, and AI-driven productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI Adoption & Enablement
  • Lead enterprise adoption of Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 across business teams
  • Identify and implement high-impact, non-development Copilot use cases
  • Drive user engagement and adoption through enablement strategies and change management initiatives
Training & User Support
  • Design and deliver training sessions for end users, leadership, and executives
  • Develop training materials, documentation, and best practices for Copilot usage
  • Promote prompt engineering techniques to improve AI output quality and effectiveness
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders on AI capabilities, risks, and opportunities
  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, business-friendly language
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives with business goals
Governance, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure Copilot usage aligns with organizational governance, data security, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with IT, security, and compliance teams to implement responsible AI practices
  • Support development of policies, standards, and guidelines for AI usage
Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor adoption metrics, user feedback, and performance outcomes
  • Refine enablement strategies and use cases based on insights and evolving business needs
  • Stay current on Microsoft Copilot capabilities and AI trends to inform strategy
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 (non-development use cases)
  • 3+ years of experience in AI adoption, digital transformation, or workplace productivity enablement
  • Strong understanding of prompt engineering, user enablement, and change management
  • Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance considerations in AI deployments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large, enterprise environments with cross-functional collaboration
  • Background in Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs or workshops
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms, knowledge management, or productivity tools
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts, responsible AI frameworks, or automation tools
