Job description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated Oracle System Administrator that will be responsible for the administration and management of Oracle on-prem and cloud applications and systems. This role performs provisioning, configuration, patching, backup and recovery, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, environment refreshes, and secures access for Oracle Cloud Applications, databases, and other OCI services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and maintain Oracle database environments on-prem and in the cloud.
  • Maintain and test database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and perform tuning activities.
  • Provision, configure, patch, upgrade, and support database and OCI services.
  • Execute database and application refreshes to support non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot Oracle platform issues.
  • Manage database and application security, user provisioning, and access permissions.
  • Monitor system integrity and proactively identify risks or improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support Oracle application systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of combined system administration experience in Oracle databases, Oracle Applications, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience administering Oracle databases.
  • Experience with backup and recovery processes.
  • Experience with database refresh and cloning procedures.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or Performance Hub
  • Knowledge of shell scripting, python, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL or other languages

Preferred

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications
  • Experience with Observability and Monitoring tools such as APM
  • Knowledge or experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Knowledge of Role Based Access Control

The base pay range for this role is $85,300 - $128,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). 

 Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
