Job description

*Inpatient and/or Ambulatory clinical experience preferred, frequent travel within Allen County and surrounding areas*

Summary

The PPG Informatics Specialist will be responsible to work with providers, clinical and other staff to optimize usage of EHR through education and implementation of optimal build and/or workflow improvements. Provides education and support in accordance with organization goals, acts as liaison on behalf of provider/clinical EHR needs and implements ongoing tactics for knowledge sustainment. Understands all workflows impacting providers and has a basic understanding of build requirements for the EHR and associated 3rd party applications. Responsible for project planning and collaborates with providers, co-workers, leaders, I/S and other pertinent departments throughout the health system. Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement in application functionality or workflow processes related to electronic health record.

Education

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in nursing, informatics, healthcare or related field; or the equivalent of 8 years of experience in a clinical, healthcare, informatics related setting.

Licensure/Certification

Must obtain credentials as Epic Credentialed Trainer in relevant EHR modules.

Experience

Minimum requirement of 4 years experience in clinical/healthcare setting, direct clinical ambulatory/practice experience preferred, EHR experience preferred. Experience with Lean preferred.

Other Qualifications

Demonstrates clinical understanding in physician practices as well as industry trends/regulations. Ability to understand and address process requirements. Skilled at problem solving, organization, strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to understand complex issues. Demonstrated knowledge of EHR and data analytics preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal, with providers, co-workers, executives, technical teams, end users or any other stakeholder. Proven ability to perform multiple priorities and work effectively in an ever-changing and fast paced environment.
