Job description

Premier Event Venue in Livingston Parish, Louisiana

Full-Time | Salary + Commission

Reports to General Manager & Director of Food and Beverage

The Role
A well-established, full-service event venue in Livingston Parish, Louisiana is seeking a driven and experienced Director of Events to lead its events department. Our property features multiple distinct on-site venues, making it an ideal destination for weddings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings, conferences, and private social gatherings of all sizes.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a hospitality professional who takes pride in flawless execution, genuine client relationships, and building systems that allow a team to thrive. The Director of Events owns the client relationship from the first inquiry through the final farewell, leads the events team, and serves as the primary liaison between clients and all internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Relations & Sales
The Director of Events responds promptly to all event inquiries and conducts professional venue tours that reflect our brand standards. They guide prospective clients through the full booking process — from initial consultation through contract execution — and maintain strong ongoing relationships with booked clients to ensure every detail is confirmed well in advance of the event date. This role is also expected to actively pursue new business and contribute to the growth of event revenue.

Event Planning & Execution
This position oversees the planning and execution of all events across multiple on-site venues, serving as Day-of Coordinator for assigned events and ensuring seamless execution from setup through breakdown. The Director prepares and manages comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for every event, distributing them to all relevant departments no fewer than seven (7) days prior to the event date, and coordinates all logistics including timelines, room setup, catering, AV, vendor arrivals, and staffing assignments.

Contracts & Documentation
The Director of Events executes legally binding event contracts for all bookings, ensuring all terms, venue scope, and client expectations are clearly documented prior to any deposit being accepted. They maintain complete, organized event files — digital and physical — for every booking, including signed contracts, BEOs, vendor certificates of insurance (COIs), and client correspondence, and are responsible for tracking COI expiration dates across the preferred vendor network.

Team Leadership & Cross-Departmental Coordination
This role builds, manages, and schedules the events team, conducts regular pre-event briefings with Food & Beverage and Management, and communicates any operational conflicts or resource needs in advance. The Director also contributes to the ongoing development of departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Vendor & Partner Management
The Director cultivates and maintains a preferred vendor network — photographers, florists, DJs, rental companies, and others — ensuring all vendors are properly vetted, carry current COIs on file, and are aligned with the property's standards and policies.

Qualifications
Required

•Minimum 3 years of experience in event coordination, event management, or a related hospitality role

•Demonstrated experience executing event contracts in a professional venue or hospitality setting

•Hands-on experience preparing and distributing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

•Proven ability to manage timelines, vendors, and staff in a live, day-of event environment

•Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar

•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; polished and professional in all client-facing interactions

Preferred

•Experience with event management software or CRM platforms

•Familiarity with the Louisiana hospitality market

•Experience in a multi-venue property setting
