Description
The Senior ERP Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating ERP and enterprise application initiatives that support the ERP delivery teams. This role is intentionally non-technical in execution and is focused on project governance, delivery discipline, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and value realization across ERP programs. The role partners closely with ERP technical leads, enterprise architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure predictable, transparent, and successful delivery of ERP initiatives.
This position exists to provide support to delivery teams, improve execution maturity, and ensure ERP work is delivered with clarity, accountability, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Project & Program Delivery
  • Lead ERP-related projects and programs from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment to business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Own project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and financial tracking.
  • Coordinate delivery across ERP functional, technical, integration, infrastructure, and vendor teams.
  • Ensure ERP initiatives are delivered within approved scope, timeline, and budget.

Governance & Execution Discipline
  • Establish and enforce project management standards, artifacts, and delivery cadence for ERP initiatives.
  • Facilitate project intake, prioritization, and sequencing in partnership with ERP leadership and business owners.
  • Drive disciplined change control, dependency management, and decision tracking.
  • Provide clear escalation paths and resolution for risks, blockers, and delivery conflicts.

Stakeholder & Business Partnership
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for ERP project communication and status reporting.
  • Translate complex ERP delivery realities into clear, actionable updates for business and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, executive readouts, and decision forums.
  • Partner with business owners to ensure expectations, timelines, and outcomes are well understood and agreed upon.

Agile & Hybrid Delivery Support
  • Support Agile, Kanban, and hybrid delivery models without acting as a Scrum Master or technical lead.
  • Ensure teams are operating with clear backlogs, priorities, delivery forecasts, and capacity visibility.
  • Promote continuous improvement in planning accuracy, predictability, and delivery transparency.

Vendor & Financial Management
  • Manage ERP vendor engagements from a project governance and execution perspective.
  • Track vendor deliverables, milestones, invoices, and contractual commitments.
  • Ensure vendor work aligns with internal priorities, standards, and delivery timelines.

Risk, Quality & Compliance
  • Proactively identify delivery, integration, data, and operational risks across ERP initiatives.
  • Ensure projects adhere to IT governance, security, SOX, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive post-implementation reviews and lessons learned to improve future ERP delivery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences or related field from an accredited program and 14 years of experience in information technology.
  • IT project management experience with significant focus on ERP or enterprise systems preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional ERP initiatives with multiple dependencies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ERP delivery lifecycles (Finance, Human Resources, Projects, integrations) without requiring hands-on configuration preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with executives, business leaders, and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational, risk management, and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to thoughtfully and positively influent, lead, and manage change.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP platforms preferred.
  • Experience working in hybrid Agile / waterfall enterprise environments preferred.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and vendors preferred.
