WHO ARE YOU?
The role of Business Development Manager will provide support to, and is accountable for, overall client satisfaction, business planning and development, implementation of sales efforts including coordination and support of the company's business development and strategy for the marketing and business development functions of PEG. The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to support and implement plans and strategies to lead the sales efforts to prospect and gain new clients by social media posting, networking, calling, attending functions or advertising as means of generating interest from potential clients, and selling PEG's services to those potential clients.
Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, and the Business Development Manager will have the responsibility to help develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires a thorough knowledge of the company's markets, the solutions/services the company can provide to new and existing clientele, and strong knowledge of the company's competitors. Knowledge of and establishing connection with the industry and its leaders, as well as gaining partnerships with key strategic players at a high level in major geographic markets either directly or through local representatives to advance the scale and scope of PEG on a national level.
THE ROLE
Job Location:
This position is based in our main office in Fairfax, VA. Some travel will be required to attend out-of-state events.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain superior relationship with current clients to ensure uncompromising customer satisfaction.
  • Expand current customers' use of PEG's services while strengthening our relationship with their key players and team.
  • Support a sales and marketing structure to include its' functions, relationships, communications, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Assist and implement in the development of strategies to enhance PEG's current service offerings and expand into new markets and opportunities. This includes management, creation, and execution of social media.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training and onboarding strategies and procedures for new clients to ensure seamless transition and superior customer satisfaction.
  • Prospect for potential new clients and establish a pipeline of new opportunities for PEG.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging existing networks; Identify potential clients and their service needs, and seek appropriate decision makers within the potential client organizations.
  • Work with operations and engineering staff to meet customer needs and support new customers. Arrange and participate in internal and external client meetings, training, and onboarding meetings.
  • Attend industry functions, such as builder association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends and deliver presentations for potential clients regarding PEG's services.
  • Present to and consult with the Senior Vice President on business trends, potential new lines of business with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels for PEG.
  • Use knowledge of the markets and competitors of PEG, identifying and developing the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators and capitalize on these opportunities to create market separation and sales growth.
  • Create proposals/contracts/agreements and ensure legal compliance within the business (i.e. contractual, sign off, business legal compliance etc.) as required by PEG policy.
  • Prepare quarterly or as-needed reports and forecasts to provide a clear understanding on the various business development initiatives across PEG's markets and potential markets, provide comment on our performance in terms of business development, and provide recommendations on changes required achieving the agreed objectives, goals, and strategies for business development success.

Education/Experience:
  • 3 - 5 years of professional business development, sales, and marketing experience are required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must have strong software skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and other related software programs.
  • Experience using Google Analytics and Google Ads.
  • Strong experience using WordPress and basic HTML.
  • High Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Canva, or similar programs
  • Proficient in using social media programs including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Creative portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design experience is preferred.
  • Dependable, self-directed, and able to complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Expert ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups and resolve schedule conflicts
