The Ewing CDL Driver serves as the front line for customer relations, customer service, branch and vehicle maintenance, and daily branch deliveries. A CDL Driver provides meaningful service to our customers in the most pleasant and professional manner possible. A CDL Driver will support the Branch Manager and Dispatch Manager’s and company goals. Drivers are expected to support Branch Managers by performing the tasks and activities required for successful branch operations, maintaining vehicle safety, as well as providing customer support. Additional requirements include the completion of tasks and activities assigned in support of annual plans established by the Branch, its Region, and its Division.


Responsibilities
  • Transport materials to and from retail or distribution centers
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Comply with CDL rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a CDL Driver
  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc)
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • Valid CDL license
