Job description

Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for a Content Development Specialist located in either our Portland, Sacramento, or Seattle office. The Stoel Rives Content Development Specialist is responsible for the development, refinement, and maintenance of key firm content and experience database narratives, partnering with attorneys and stakeholders to ensure materials are clear, current, consistent, and aligned to firm priorities and market demand.
Working closely with Business Development and Marketing Operations, this role owns the refinement, governance, and development of key client-facing content, in partnership with attorneys and stakeholders, in areas such as Communications (social, portal, and website), directories such as Chambers, and experience and content narratives used in pitches and RFPs. The role also supports proactive thought leadership development by identifying timely topics, facilitating attorney authorship, and enabling scalable content creation through structured processes and AI-assisted workflows.
The successful candidate is a strong writer and editor with sound judgment, the ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives, and the organizational skills to manage ongoing content workflows and attorney collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development, Quality & Governance
  • Draft, edit, and refine key firm content as needed, including new attorney biographies, announcements, and key firm communications Capture, standardize and maintain matter experience narratives for use across all platforms (website, Foundation, submissions)
  • Conduct content audits and enforce editorial standards to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with SEO/GEO best practices
  • Review externally facing website and eMarketing content prior to publishing

Content Strategy & Thought Leadership Support
  • Partner with Business Development to identify trends, legal developments, and timely content opportunities
  • Develop content ideas and outlines to support attorney authorship and thought leadership
  • Proactively recommend updates and enhancements to priority pages and narratives

Attorney Engagement & Content Intake
  • Manage outreach and follow-up with attorneys across onboarding, matter capture, and ongoing content development
  • Support efficient intake of experience and reduce friction in the content development process
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality capture of representative matters in Foundation

Awards, Submissions & Profile Management
  • Project manage the suite of Chambers submissions, surveys, and awards content development
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables with Business Development Managers
  • Ensure consistency of narrative across submissions and related materials
  • Manage firm and attorney profile content and submit finalized materials according to schedule

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and content structuring ability
  • Ability to distill complex information and synthesize inputs from multiple sources into clear, consistent narratives
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workflows in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to content quality and consistency
  • Sound judgment and the ability to exercise discretion, take initiative, and act independently under general supervision
  • Strong collaboration skills and a client-service orientation when working with attorneys and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity
  • Resourceful and proactive in identifying gaps, gathering information, and driving content forward
  • Comfort working with AI-assisted tools to support content development workflows

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required. Must have a minimum of three years' experience with an emphasis on communications and writing. Professional services experience preferred.
Physical and Mental Capabilities
Job requires frequent sitting, talking, and listening. Must be able to type on a computer keyboard in a sitting position for extended periods of time during a workday. Position requires occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 35 lbs. for short distances), and reaching. Must be able to operate telephone and photocopy equipment; read, interpret, and understand written and verbal instructions and information; learn quickly; present ideas effectively, sometimes under pressure; express ideas clearly in written and verbal form; and maintain stable performance, sometimes under time constraints.
NORMAL WORK HOURS
This is a hybrid position, is non-exempt, and eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The pay range for this position is $56,000 - $98,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
In addition to base compensation, Stoel Rives has a total rewards program that includes an annual discretionary bonus and rich benefits offerings. For example, our benefits offerings include paid family & medical leave, competitive PTO, and remote work options. We offer competitive and robust medical, dental, vision, life long-term disability, AD&D, EAP, FSA and Voluntary Life, ADD, and LTC options.
