Job description

Overview
The SVP Enterprise Client Engagement and Strategy is Cotiviti's most senior client-facing executive outside the C-suite. Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, this leader carries full business line accountability for Cotiviti's client relationships - owning commercial performance, multi-year area strategy, and the function's contribution to enterprise revenue and growth.
The SVP Enterprise Client Engagement and Strategy is expected to shape how Cotiviti engages Cotiviti's clients over the next three to five years, drive innovation in how the company delivers and captures value with clients, and provide meaningful input into long-term functional strategy at the five-year horizon and beyond. This leader translates Cotiviti's enterprise direction into a medium-term Client Engagement strategy that is concrete, differentiated, and commercially grounded.
Externally, this executive operates as an industry presence - not just a senior account manager. They influence how health plan executives think about performance, payment integrity, and analytics partnerships, and they carry Cotiviti's market narrative at the highest levels of the payer ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Business line strategy and planning
  • Own the three-to-five year Client Engagement area strategy - developing and executing medium-term plans that align with Cotiviti's corporate objectives and growth priorities.
  • Provide substantive input into long-term functional and divisional strategy (five-year horizon and beyond), working in close partnership with the Chief Growth Officer and enterprise leadership.
  • Translate long-term functional strategy into actionable, medium-term operating plans for the Client Engagement business line.
  • Identify and pursue structural shifts in how Cotiviti engages and retains clients - driving innovation in client engagement models, value delivery mechanisms, and commercial structures.
  • Shape industry trends through thought leadership, advisory participation, and external influence - positioning Cotiviti as a defining voice in the payer analytics and payment integrity market.

Executive client leadership
  • Own and deepen executive-level relationships at Cotiviti's most strategic accounts, with consistent access at CEO, CFO, CMO, and COO level across assigned health plans.
  • Serve as Cotiviti's most senior voice in client-facing settings - representing the full portfolio of solutions and Cotiviti's strategic direction with authority and credibility.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, surfacing insight, anticipating challenges, and positioning Cotiviti as an indispensable partner in their operational and financial performance.
  • Lead executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions that demonstrate measurable value and reinforce long-term partnership.
  • Serve as executive sponsor and final escalation point for the most complex or at-risk client situations, intervening personally where stakes are highest.

Revenue performance and commercial accountability
  • Own revenue delivery, retention, and growth targets across a $300M+ book of business, with personal accountability for outcomes against plan.
  • Lead expansion and upsell strategy across assigned accounts, in close partnership with Sales, Product, and Business Unit leadership.
  • Drive renewal strategy and negotiation for the most complex, high-value contracts in Cotiviti's portfolio.
  • Identify white space within existing accounts and develop commercially disciplined growth plans with supporting business cases.
  • Monitor revenue risk signals proactively; lead mitigation before issues escalate to the CGO or C-suite.

Organizational leadership and change
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing Client Engagement organization, with direct reports typically at E1 (VP) and M6 (Senior Director) level.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives within the function - including structural redesign, capability building, and operating model evolution - as Cotiviti scales and the market evolves.
  • Set clear performance standards, build depth of talent, and establish a culture of client obsession, commercial rigor, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Coach and mentor senior client engagement leaders, elevating the overall standard of executive relationship management across the organization.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, Operations, and Marketing to ensure seamless client experience and aligned priorities.

Market influence and strategic insight
  • Translate deep client intelligence into product and strategy input - ensuring Cotiviti's roadmap remains tightly aligned with evolving payer priorities and market demands.
  • Represent Cotiviti externally at industry conferences, advisory boards, and in peer-to-peer executive forums - actively shaping industry narrative and trends.
  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer to shape go-to-market priorities based on client insight, competitive intelligence, and medium-term market projections.
  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective on market dynamics, regulatory change, and competitive positioning - informing enterprise strategy with intelligence from the field.

Client satisfaction and risk management
  • Own the health and satisfaction of assigned accounts, ensuring early identification and resolution of delivery, relationship, or commercial risk.
  • Champion the client's perspective internally - acting as a forceful advocate for client needs in product, delivery, and operational decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements and all Business Associate obligations across client engagement activity.
  • Track, manage, and close all material client issues at pace, with clear accountability and transparent communication.

  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
Experience
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in healthcare, health plan operations, or healthcare analytics - with a significant portion at senior executive or C-suite-adjacent level.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning and growing a $200M+ revenue portfolio in a complex B2B healthcare environment.
  • Deep experience operating with health plan executives at CEO, CFO, CMO, and COO level - with a reputation for trusted, peer-level advisory relationships.
  • Proven leadership of organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, capability uplift, or operating model evolution at scale.
  • Experience developing and owning multi-year business line strategy in an organization of meaningful scale ($1B+ preferred).
  • 10+ years of people leadership experience, including leading senior (VP/Director-level) teams in a matrixed organization.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred; bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field required.

Domain knowledge
  • Comprehensive understanding of health plan operations, payment integrity, risk adjustment, quality, and utilization management.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare claims payment policy, claims editing, fraud detection, and revenue cycle management.
  • Fluency in the competitive landscape of healthcare analytics, payment integrity, and population health solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape industry thinking - through advisory participation, published perspectives, or executive-level forum leadership.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, CMS, ACA) and their operational implications for payer clients.

Leadership and strategic skills
  • Exceptional executive presence - able to command a room, represent Cotiviti's brand, and influence senior client and market decisions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year strategic plans that drive measurable business line performance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • This is a remote position. Candidates must be able to maintain a dedicated, secure home office environment with high-speed internet connectivity. Travel to client sites and Cotiviti offices is required, with frequency commensurate with the demands of a senior client engagement role (estimated 30-40%).
  • Physical requirements include extended periods of stationary work (sitting or standing), use of standard computer peripherals, and frequent video and in-person communication. No adverse environmental conditions are anticipated.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.

Base compensation ranges from $275,000 to $345,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
