Job description

About Bretton AI

Bretton runs AI-native operations for the financial back office. OCC, Fed and FDIC regulated banks use Bretton AI to run compliance, risk, fraud, and operations on one platform, on their own data and policies, with every output traced, cited, and audit-ready.

We’ve raised over $95M from Greylock, Y Combinator, Thomson Reuters Ventures and other top tier investors. We’re based in downtown San Francisco and our team comes from world-class organizations like Google, Netflix, Stripe, Plaid, Brex, and more.

The Role

We're going to publish a lot: blog posts, guides, case studies, email, social, and research that sets the standard for how AI in compliance gets evaluated. You will own all of it.

This is a writer-first role. We produce most of our content in-house, so you'll spend most of your time researching, interviewing internal experts, and writing, and the rest running the editorial calendar that keeps everything shipping on time. You'll work closely with our Director of Product Marketing (who owns messaging and positioning), our Growth and Field Marketing Directors (who need content to fuel campaigns and events), and our PR firm (who amplifies what we publish and occasionally ghostwrites bylines for us).

You will be the person who turns our subject matter expertise into a consistent, high-volume, high-quality content engine.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the editorial calendar end to end: planning, prioritization, production, publication, and reporting

  • Write the majority of our content yourself: long-form blog posts, guides, case studies, email copy, social posts, and web copy

  • Interview internal experts (founders, compliance specialists, product leads) and turn conversations into publishable content

  • Build a simple intake process so Growth, Field, and Product Marketing requests get prioritized transparently

  • Establish and enforce a quality bar appropriate for a technical, regulated audience

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate your work while maintaining the anti-slop, high quality bar expected of Bretton AI content

  • Repurpose flagship content across formats and channels to maximize output per idea

  • Report on content performance monthly and adjust the calendar based on what works

What We’re Looking ForMust-Haves:
  • 4-7 years in content marketing, with meaningful time at a B2B SaaS company (fintech, regtech, security, or another technical/regulated space strongly preferred)

  • Exceptional writing: clear, structured, and fast. You'll be asked to show work you personally wrote and complete a short writing exercise

  • Proven high-volume production: you've shipped consistently on a calendar, not just produced occasional flagship pieces

  • Comfort with dense subject matter: you can get smart on financial crime requirements, lending regulations, consumer compliance nuances and write about it credibly for compliance professionals

  • Self-directed: you've operated as the primary or sole content person before, or you're ready to

  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, content analytics, and modern content tooling

Bonus Points:
  • Experience writing about AI/ML products for skeptical, risk-aware buyers

  • Familiarity with financial services compliance, banking, or fintech

  • Experience turning webinars, podcasts, or video into written content

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • You'll own the content marketing function at a fast-growing, well-funded company, with direct line of sight to pipeline impact

  • Compliance and AI is one of the most substantive B2B topics there is: real stakes, real expertise in the building, no shortage of things worth saying

  • Small team, senior leadership access, and the chance to shape the content engine from scratch rather than inherit someone else's system

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary + equity + commission

  • Comprehensive healthcare, 401k matching, commuter benefits

  • Flexible time off, unlimited sick days, and paid holidays

  • Working late? We’ve got you covered with DoorDash and an Uber home
