Job description

Sloane Strategy believes in the power of collaboration to create exceptional social media platforms and tailored marketing collateral. As an extension of our clients' teams, we immerse ourselves in their vision and goals to develop a social media presence that exceeds expectations. Our innovative approach ensures the final result aligns with each client's creative vision and reflects their unique brand identity. We work collaboratively to refine and fine-tune each company's presence, leaving no detail overlooked. As a growing boutique marketing agency, our work spans social media strategy and management, content production, paid media, branding, web design, and digital marketing across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries.

The Role

Sloane Strategy is seeking a Content & Production Manager to take full ownership of the agency's content production process while supporting accounts across organic social, paid media, account management, strategy, and agency operations. The primary focus of this position is content production and execution. This person will independently lead content shoots from pre-production through final delivery, capturing professional photography and video using DSLR/mirrorless cameras as well as social-first iPhone content. Outside of production, this is intentionally a cross-functional role. The ideal candidate is a cross functional marketing candidate who understands how content fits into a larger digital strategy and is comfortable contributing across the different services Sloane Strategy provides. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, wants significant autonomy over their work, and is excited by the opportunity to grow alongside a boutique agency.

Role Description and ExpectationsPhotography & Videography
  • Own and execute Sloane Strategy content shoots from beginning to end
  • Lead approximately 1–2 client content shoots per week, with frequency varying based on client needs in-person across the DMV area
  • Manage pre-production planning, shot lists, equipment preparation, shoot execution, post-production, asset organization, and final delivery
  • Capture professional photography across a variety of industries, environments, lighting conditions, and visual styles
  • Capture high-quality DSLR/mirrorless video for social and digital campaigns
  • Capture social-first iPhone photo and video content
  • Confidently direct clients, employees, models, and other talent on camera
  • Understand composition, lighting, exposure, audio, framing, movement, and visual storytelling
  • Edit short-form video content including Reels, TikToks, advertisements, and other social-first video
  • Edit and color-correct professional photography
  • Organize and archive RAW footage, photography, project files, and final assets within company systems
  • Maintain Sloane Strategy's production equipment and identify future equipment needs
  • Coordinate additional production support when a project requires multiple shooters or specialized resources
Social Media & Account Management
  • Support and manage client relationships and day-to-day account needs
  • Participate in client calls and strategy conversations
  • Develop content concepts and contribute to monthly content calendar planning
  • Write and refine social copy, captions, SEO-focused language, hashtags, and calls to action
  • Support organic social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Schedule and publish content through Meta Business Suite and other platforms
  • Review social performance and contribute to monthly analytics and reporting
  • Help translate client goals into actionable content and social strategies
  • Support the development and management of Meta advertising campaigns
  • Assist with campaign setup, targeting, creative testing, optimization, and reporting
  • Collaborate on paid creative concepts and produce photo/video assets designed for advertising
  • Generate design collateral for specific content needs through Canva and Adobe Suite
  • Monitor campaign performance and contribute recommendations based on results
Onboarding and Operations

As a growing boutique agency, this position will also have opportunities to contribute across other areas of the business based on experience, workload, and interest, including:

  • Client onboarding
  • Internal processes and project management
  • Prospect research and business development support
  • Proposal and pitch preparation
  • Influencer marketing and ambassador programs
  • Sloane Strategy's own organic and paid marketing
  • Supporting and mentoring interns as the agency grows
  • Support in overall client acquisition
  • Identifying opportunities to improve creative, production, and account workflows
What We're Looking For
  • Approximately 3–7+ years of relevant professional experience in content production, social media, digital marketing, agency work, or a related field
  • Cross-functional abilities to support various aspects within the agency
  • Extensive professional photography experience using DSLR and/or mirrorless camera systems
  • Strong professional videography experience
  • Proficient on: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Pinterest, and other social platforms
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating photography and video work across multiple styles, environments, and subject matters
  • Highly proficient in social-first iPhone content creation
  • Strong video editing and post-production capabilities
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency with CapCut and similar video editing softwares
  • Proficiency with Google Ads & Analytics (GA4)
  • Proficiency with Canva
  • Familiarity with Trello and Monday or comparable project-management platforms
  • Proficiency of Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, and Meta Ads Manager
  • Strong understanding of organic social media strategy and current platform best practices
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients
  • Experience selecting, setting up, and operating professional lighting and audio equipment for photography and video production
  • Able to produce content both larger scale and small scale (ex. from a small commercial for YouTube to a trendy short-form video on TikTok)
  • Proactively monitor social media trends, platform updates, emerging content formats, and creative best practices and identify relevant opportunities for client accounts
  • Able to independently manage projects, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Strong creative instincts and an eye for visual storytelling
  • Comfortable working in a growing small-business environment where responsibilities may evolve
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to content shoots throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia
  • Ability to occasionally accommodate early morning, evening, or weekend shoots when client needs require
Schedule and Flexibility

This is a full-time, flexible hybrid position. The role is anticipated to require approximately two days per week in person, primarily for client content shoots throughout the DMV. Shoot schedules will vary from week to week based on client needs. Outside of scheduled shoots, client meetings, and other time-sensitive responsibilities, work may primarily be completed remotely with significant flexibility in day-to-day scheduling. This role is built around communication, quality of work, and meeting client deadlines rather than being in an office for a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Must be located near the Washington, DC area (ideally around a thirty minute commute from Georgetown, DC our central location for flexible schedule ease).

Compensation

Based on professional experience, portfolio strength, production capabilities, and breadth of digital marketing experience. $60,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience.

  • Primarily remote work outside of scheduled content shoots and client obligations
  • Medical and Dental through a standard plan under Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Retirement funds may be offered on a discretionary bonus put toward your own individual retirement account.
  • Professional development and certification opportunities
  • Direct collaboration with the founder
  • Significant autonomy over the agency's content production function
  • Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries
  • Opportunity to help shape internal creative and production processes
  • Clear opportunity for increased responsibility and leadership as Sloane Strategy grows
