About this Job ABOUT THIS JOB The Board of Regents Division of Strategic Planning and Student Success is responsible for advancing statewide initiatives that support higher education policy, student success, workforce development, and strategic planning. The division coordinates and updates the Board of Regents Master Plan, develops policies, resources, and initiatives that support statewide goals, fulfills state and federal reporting requirements, responds to legislative requests, and oversees the registration and licensure of non-academic proprietary schools. The division also supports statewide workforce and education planning through data analysis and strategic initiatives.

Additionally, the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), a program of the Board of Regents, promotes college access by preparing, supporting, and providing financial aid resources to students throughout Louisiana. The Digital Media Specialist is a Board of Regents position assigned to the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA). Reporting within the Division of Strategic Planning and Student Success, this position is responsible for creating engaging digital content, managing the agency's social media presence, and providing multimedia and technical support for meetings, events, and strategic communications.

The incumbent collaborates with communications staff and agency leadership to develop high-quality visual content, strengthen public engagement, support marketing initiatives, and provide digital media services for the Louisiana Board of Regents and affiliated agencies, including the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) and the Louisiana Library Network (LOUIS). ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION The Board of Regents (BoR) is established in the Louisiana Constitution as the state's coordinating board for higher education, working with four management boards, 32 public degree-granting institutions, and four special-purpose institutions. The BoR sets statewide policy related to higher education; advocates for higher education systems and institutions; distributes state-provided funding in accordance with legislative actions; and administers granting programs related to the advancement of the missions of postsecondary education systems and institutions.

The BoR contains three programs which include the Board of Regents, the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), and the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON). IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Strong creative, visual storytelling, and multimedia production skills. Experience creating engaging digital content for a variety of audiences and communication platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of social media strategy, analytics, and current digital marketing trends. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as Microsoft Office 365 applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Experience Proven experience in videography, photography, and managing social media platforms. Technical Competencies Strong creative and technical skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other professional video editing software.

Experience creating digital media content for multiple communication channels. Knowledge of social media management, digital content development, and multimedia production. Ability to provide audiovisual support for meetings and events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference may be given to candidates possessing: Experience with web development and content management systems, including creating, updating, and maintaining webpages. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience providing technical support for meetings, presentations, and special events. JOB DUTIES Digital Content Creation & Multimedia Production Creates engaging videos, photography, and other digital media highlighting LOSFA programs, services, events, and agency initiatives.

Assists with digital media projects, videography, event setup, and content development supporting the Louisiana Board of Regents and affiliated agencies, including LUMCON and LOUIS. Photographs agency events and maintains a digital archive of images for use in publications, presentations, marketing materials, and promotional campaigns. Maintains an archive of videography and b-roll footage documenting agency events, activities, and partnership sites for future content development and promotional purposes.

Social Media Strategy & Marketing Oversees implementation of LOSFA's social media strategy in collaboration with the communications team. Collaborates with the Public Relations Specialist to plan, coordinate, and maintain the agency's social media content calendar. Develops strategic campaigns and engaging content to increase audience reach, engagement, and social media following.

Collects and reports social media analytics to evaluate campaign performance and support strategic decision-making. Collaborates with graphic designers and communications staff to develop cohesive and visually engaging content supporting agency marketing, communications, and promotional initiatives. Website Management & Digital Communications Creates, updates, and maintains website content, including developing program-specific webpages that support agency initiatives and public information needs.

Maintains editorial consistency and ensures website content aligns with LOSFA goals, Board of Regents standards, web style guide requirements, applicable legal requirements, and compliance standards. Remains current on emerging digital media technologies, social media trends, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement of agency communications. Technical Support & Event Services Provides technical support for meetings, presentations, and agency events, including the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support agency operations and communications initiatives. POSITION-SPECIFIC DETAILS Appointment Type: This position is an unclassified appointment and may be filled through external recruitment or promotion of a current employee. Worksite Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Galvez Building) Work Schedule: Monday through Friday business hours, with occasional evening, weekend, and travel requirements as operational needs dictate.

Security Requirements: Annual safety training is required for all state employees. Access to driving records is required for employees operating state-owned vehicles or state-contracted rental vehicles. A background chek is required.

Physical Demands: The position is housed in a standard office environment. Typing is essential to completing assigned duties. Minimal standing, stooping, and light lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be required.

Work Environment: This position is housed within the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) in the Galvez Building in downtown Baton Rouge. Laptop computers may be provided to support off-site work as needed. Travel Requirements: Travel may include local and statewide travel to support agency meetings, events, promotional activities, outreach initiatives, and other operational needs.
