As a Construction Assistant Testing Manager/Senior Engineering Technician: Hynes & Associates is looking for an assistant testing manager/senior technician.
The person will perform field inspections and office duties including but not limited to supervision of employees, report writing, training, field inspections, and scheduling. 1-3 years of relevant experience with some supervisory experience is preferred. A four year degree in management, construction management or engineering will be given priority. The position will require lifting of up to 80 pounds. The applicant should have good communication and time management skills. The job sites are located in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
We are looking for a person with strong initiative and good math skills, who will perform routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials in the field. The inspector determines conformance to construction plans and specifications. Technicians are trained to perform laboratory and field tests on (soils, aggregate, mortar, grout, and concrete). The Technicians are expected to become American Concrete Institute certified field testing technicians. Other certifications and training are available.
The construction materials testing technician will interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active construction projects and assist the testing manger with department operations. The Inspector will prepare daily reports, sketches, data sheets and weekly project reporting
Job Functions:

  • Ability to lift and or move up to 60 80 lb. (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.).
  • Some key responsibilities will include: field observation, sampling and testing of construction materials, followed by clear documentation of the data results.
  • Attend project and safety meetings.
